Miscreants set an Awami League office in Bagerhat municipality afire yesterday, reports UNB. Mizanur Rahman Khan, officer-in-charge of Bagerhat Model Police Station, said the miscreants set the no 4 ward unit Awami League office ablaze at Amlapara in the district town in the wee hours. The fire burnt down the furniture and a television set inside the office. On information, a firefighting unit rushed in and extinguished the blaze after frantic efforts. Jainul Abedin, an official of Bagerhat Fire Brigade Station, said the fire might have originated from electric short circuit.
