‘Krishnapakkha’, a much-anticipated full-length Bangla feature film based on a novel by late popular writer Humayun Ahmed, has been submitted to the Bangladesh Film Censor Board. DhakaLive has news that after completing the entire work of the film, it was submitted to censor board on Wednesday.
Though it was announced on the day of film’s Shubho Mahurat (Formal opening ceremony of a film) that ‘Krishnapakkha’ will be released on the birthday of Humayun Ahmed on November 13 last year, it was not possible due to serious illness of the lead actor Riaz during the shooting of the film. As a result, all the calculation centring the release of Meher Afroz Shaon’s directorial debut film has been changed now. Consequently, the shooting of the film was not completed in due time, rather it was completed a few days ago.
Director of the film Meher Afroz Shaon, who is also the wife of late Humayun Ahmed, said about the film’s release, “The film has been submitted to censor board just now. The decision of releasing the film would be decided after getting the green signal from the censor board. This is also true that we have thought about a date in our mind, but everything will depend on censorship certificate.”
Produced by Impress Telefilm, popular actors Riaz and Mahiya Mahi have paired up together for the first time through the film. Among others, Ferdous, Tania Ahemd, Moutushi Biswas, Azad Abul Kalam, Kayes Ahemd and Faruk Ahmed have acted in the film.l
