Textbook distribution festival in Khulna today

KHULNA: Students of primary and secondary schools in Khulna region in 2016 academic year to be collect free textbooks from the schools today, reports BSS. A total of 1,59, 27038 new text books will be distributed free among the 17,38,430 students in this region. "We have a demand a total of 2,3088934 text books for the students but we have received 2,1848721 textbooks till yesterday," said T M Zakir Hossain, Deputy Director of Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education in Khulna region. All the Primary, Secondary, Dakhil, Ebteedai, SSC vocational and Dakhil vocational Schools in Khulna division will be distributed text books today morning through colourful ceremony.
The main books distribution festival in the division will be held at the Government Khulna Zilla School this morning. State Minister for fisheries and Live Stock Naryan Chandra Chanda is expected to attend the ceremony as the chief guest while lawmakers Begum Monnuzan Sufian, Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdus Samad, DIG of Khulna Range Police SM Monir-uz-Zaman and Administrator of Khulna District Council Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid is expected to attend the function as the special guests.
Convener of Khulna Divisional Textbooks Festival Udjapon Committee-2016 and also head master of Khulna Zilla School Md Ariful Islam said "We have received 99 per cent textbooks yesterday. The other books will be reached here next week."
