Tight security taken for celebration of 31st night

Security measures have been clamped up in the capital city and elsewhere of the country for smooth celebration of the thirty-first night, the time before January 1, 2016, reports BSS. Diplomatic enclaves, public university campuses and posh areas have been brought under a security blanket with the deployment of a large number of law-enforcers including Rapid Action Battalion(RAB). Check posts have been set up at the strategic points including every entry and exit points of the capital city and several closed circuit camera televisions (CCTVs) have been installed to make the security foolproof. Additional forces of police, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and plainclothes from intelligence agencies have been deployed in the capital city particularly, Dhaka University (DU), diplomatic zones, Rabindra Sarobar and Hatirjheel areas for peaceful celebration of the 31st night. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah assured of foolproof security in the capital city ahead of the 31st night. The DMP has restricted holding New Year gatherings in outdoor on security grounds.
Urging everyone to return home by 8pm on Thursday for security reasons, the DMP commissioner said, "If people want to throw any party, they can do it at their homes, restaurants or in other indoor places."
