Anis A Khan elected chairman of ABB

Anis A Khan, managing director and CEO of Mutual Trust Bank Ltd (MTB), has been elected chairman of Association of Bankers, Bangladesh (ABB) for 2016-2017, a press statement said yesterday.
Mohammad Abdul Mannan, managing director of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited, Abdus Salam, CEO and managing director of Janata Bank Limited, and Syed Mahbubur Rahman, managing director of Dhaka Bank Limited, were elected as vice chairmen, while Arif Quadri, deputy managing director of United Commercial Bank Limited was elected as the secretary general. Also, Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, managing director of Export Import Bank of Bangladesh Limited, was elected as the treasurer, the statement added.
The election of the 17 member board of governors was held yesterday at the Spectra Convention Centre in the capital during the 18th annual general meeting (AGM) of the association, chaired by Ali Reza Iftekhar, managing director and CEO of Eastern Bank Ltd and chairman of ABB.
