BSF hands over 3 Bangladeshis
Benapole: A joint team of Petrapole Immigration Police and Border Security Force of India handed over three Bangladeshi nationals to Border Guard of Bangladesh through Benapole check post on Saturday night, reports UNB.
The returnees are Munni, 18, Rashida, 18, and Brishti, 18, hailing from Palash upazila in Narshingdi and Demra upazila in Dhaka.
They went to India through human trafficking gang two and half years ago. Indian police arrest them from a house in Kolkata.
Later, an Indian court sent them to jail.
After completing their jail terms, they were in Indian Child Welfare Community, said Subedar Abdul Hamid of Integrated Check Post (ICP) of Benapole BGB battalion-26.After completion of all the formalities, the girls were handed over to BGB at night, and later, to Benapole Port Police Station.
Youth held with 3 pistols
Chapainawabganj: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a young man along with 3 pistols, 3 magazines and 13 rounds of bullets from Kansat Dhoppukur area of Shibaganj upazila on Saturday evening, reports UNB.
The arrestee was identified as Palash, 25, son of Abu Sayed, a resident of Hadinagar village of the upazila.
Assistant superintendent Alok Biswas, camp commander of Rab-5, said being tipped off, a team of Rab conducted a drive in the area around 7pm and arrested him.
Later, they recovered the arms from his possession.
Body recovered in Sirajganj

The body of a youth was recovered from a mustard field nearby Tarash-Katagari road at Arongail village in Tarash upazila of Sirajganj yesterday.
The deceased was Zahurul Islam, 35, of Radhakantapur village in the upazila.
Quoting victim’s family members, police sources said the victim went out with his motorbike on Saturday evening.
But he did not return home that night.
Yesterday locals found his body lying on a mustard field and informed it to police.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to a hospital for autopsy.
Police suspected that criminals might have strangled him to death and took away his motorbike.
22 arrested in Narail
NARAIL: Police, in special drives, arrested 22 persons from different areas of the district in the past 24 hours till yesterday morning, reports BSS.
Police sources said, among the arrested, four were held from Sadar upazila, nine from Lohagara upazila, four from Kalia upazila and five from Naragati upazila. Police Super Sardar Rafiqul Islam said the arrested persons would be produced before courts yesterday.
