Benapole: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh rescued 27people while they were being trafficked to India through Sadipur border point yesterday morning, reports UNB. Subedar Ayub Ali, of BGB 26 battalion, said being tipped off that some people were being trafficked to India through the border point, a BGB team conducted a drive in the morning and rescued them. The rescued people, who hail from different areas in Bagerhat, Satkhira, and Narail districts, included 19 women, four men and four children, added the BGB official. However, sensing the presence of the BGB members, the human trafficking gang members fled the scene. Later, the trafficking victims were handed over to Benapole port police station. A case was filed in this connection, said Sujit Kumar, sub-inspector of Benapole port police.
