Geography Fair held at JU
SAVAR: Jahangirnagar University (JU) Geography Association (JUGA) yesterday organised a Geography Fair-2015 amid fanfare and festivity. Like every year JUGA organised the event where students of Geography and Environment (G&E) dept. exhibits some variety of Geography and Environmental modeling on Bangladesh perspective, confirmed convener of the fair also lecturer of the department Bibi Hafsa. At about 9:30am chairman of the department Prof Sajed Ashraf Karim inaugurated the fair as chief guest while Rajshahi University (RU) G&E department Prof A Z M Shoeb attended as special guest. Among other Country’s renowned environmentalist Prof Dr Sheikh Tawhidul Islam, Prof Shahedur Rashid, Khandakar Hasan Mahmud, Rezaul Roni, Mehedi Iqbal, Alamgir Hossen Bhuyan, Anarul Haque Mondal were attended the function. Prof Sajed said, ‘In order to increase public awareness like every year our students organised the fair even with our limited resources we should afford attempt to defend the environment balanced.’
BSMRAU admission tests held
The written tests for admission to the Bachelor of Science courses at  Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU) under the summer session were held on the university campus yesterday. The BSc courses for which the intake tests were held included Agriculture, Fisheries, Agriculture Economics and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. Vice-Chancellor of the university Prof Dr Md Mahbubar Rahman visited several halls during the examinations that began at 11:00 am. Treasurer Prof Dr Md Ismail Hossain Mian, the registrar, deans of the faculties and directors were present at that time. The results of the admission tests to be published in the evening would be available on the university website www.bsmrau.edu.bd and notice boards. BAU honours first year classes from Jan 11. The honours first year classes under the 2015-16 academic session of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) will begin on January 11. A freshers’ reception will be held at the Shilpacharya Zainul Abedin auditorium of BAU on January 10, said the acting registrar Md. Saiful Islam. ‘Discovering Your Potentials’ held at AIUB. The Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised a master class session on ‘Discovering Your Potentials’ at the faculty auditorium recently.
