Ban derogatory comment on Liberation War: Shahriar Kabir
Ekattorer Ghatak Dalal Nirmul Committee has demanded that a new law be enacted to prevent any derogatory comment against the War of Liberation. The committee demanded the law with retrospective effect against derogatory remarks on Liberation War, Bangabandhu and struggle for Independence to punish the violators. The demand was put forward by nirmul committee president Shahriar Kabir at a news conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unity yesterday. The demand comes in the wake of a recent controversial remark by BNP chief Khaleda Zia regarding Bangabandhu and the number of people killed by Pakistan Army during the Liberation War in 1971.
