RU teachers observe work abstention today

Rajshahi University Teachers Association (RUTA) has announced a work abstention for today protesting the speech of Finance Minister AMA Muhith over the 8th national pay scale, reports UNB. On December 23, Finance Minister AMA Muhith said there is no scope to change the newly announced national pay scale. The minister came up with the remark while talking to reporters after paying his income tax online at the Bangladesh Secretariat in Dhaka. The announcement of the work abstention came from a press release signed by RUTA general secretary Prof Rejaul Karim on Saturday.
