Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) yesterday arrested the second wife of late journalist Awrangajeb Sajib from Senpara Parbata in the capital in connection with the death of her husband, reports UNB.
The floating body of journalist Awrangajeb Sajib who went missing three days back was found in the Dhaleshwari River in Sadar upazila in Munshigonj district on Wednesday afternoon.
Acting on a tip-off, a RAB-4 team arrested Sajib’s 2nd wife Alefa Khatun Anjona alias Munia from in front of her residence at 9/1 Senpara Parbata of Mirpur at around 10:00 am.
Contacted, Commanding Officer of RAB-4 Lt Col Khandker Lutful Kabir said Munia was arrested on suspicion of a connection with the mysterious death of journalist Sajib.
As a case was filed with Munshigonj Sadar police station, she will be handed over to the police station, the RAB-4 CO added.
On Sunday, Sajib who used to work for vernacular daily The Bangladesh Pratidin and two private television channels, including Independent TV, went missing after he left his station at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) in the morning.
His belongings, including moneybag and mobile phone, were found in a Chandpur-bound launch around 11:30am on the day.
