2 candidates fined for violating polls code

Shariatpur: In separate mobile court drives, Jajira municipality councillor candidate Sirajul Islam and Damudya municipality councillor candidate Mokter Hossain were fined Tk 5,000 and Tk 2,000 respectively for violating the election code of conduct, reports UNB. Jajira upazila assistant commissioner (Land) Mukul Kumer Moutra said a mobile court led by him conducted a drive in the municipality and fined Tk 5,000 to councilor candidate Sirajul Islam. Besides, another mobile court led by returning officer and upazila executive officer Asaduzzaman fined Damudya councilor candidate Mokter Hossain Kamal Tk 2,000.
