Hawkers blast eviction from sales points

The Dhaka Newspaper Hawkers' Cooperative Society has condemned their eviction from two sales points in the capital's Gulistan area by the city corporation authority, says a press release. President of the organisation Mostafa Kamal, and its Secretary Moslem Mia in a joint statement on Wednesday said the society had already cleared their fees till June, 2016 to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). However, DSCC in a drive on December 21, removed their two sales points from Gulistan area in apparent violation of the High Court directives, they alleged. They also sought help from the authorities concerned for re-installing those sales points there.
