Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) Chittagong University unit yesterday suspended one of its activist for a month on charge of misbehaving with a trader on the campus. The activist was identified as Md Arafat Hossain, student of the History department of the university under the academic session 2011-2012. According to sources, Arafat behaved badly with a local trader named Nabin Sowdagar on the campus on Thursday morning. In this connection, the trader lodged a complaint with the CU BCL president and general secretary. “Following the complaint, Arafat was suspended from the organisation for the period from December 24 to January 24,” said Mohammad Alamgir Tipu, president of the university unit BCL. “None can get away after committing crime; we found truth of the complaint of the trader, so we suspended him from the organisation for one month,” added Tipu.
