Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) and Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) in a joint drive pulled down eight billboards from Oxygen area and demolished 30 shops from Oxygen-Quish road in the city yesterday. The court was led by Khin One Nu, executive magistrate of (CDA) and Nazia Shirin, executive magistrate of CCC. Khin One Nu, executive magistrate of CDA told The Independent that seven billboards were pulled down from Oxygen area and one was pulled down from Quish road for illegally built on the road hiding skyline. They also demolished 30 shops which were illegally erected roadside without any prior permission from CDA. During the drive the court fined three shops Tk 20, 000 for extending their shops on the road and creating obstacles of people movement on pavement, said Nazia Shirin, executive magistrate of CCC.
