Amkodor service centres to be set up in Bangladesh
Agreement on the supply of nearly 700 Amkodor vehicles worth of $50 million to be signed
Amkodor, one of the leading companies for the production of special type of machinery in the Republic of Belarus and CIS countries, plans to set up network service centres in Bangladesh.
There are plans to set up a network of Amkodor service centres in Bangladesh, speaker of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich told media after his meeting with Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives of Bangladesh Khandker Mosharraf Hossain on Wednesday, Belarusian Telegraph Agency (BelTA) reports from Minsk.
Amkodor is one of the leading companies for the production of special type of machinery in the Republic of Belarus and CIS countries.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, Belarus and Bangladesh have been steadily developing political, trade and economic relations.
The parties are currently signing an agreement on the supply of nearly 700 Amkodor vehicles worth of $50 million.
We have suggested a profitable financial scheme for both the sides, Myasnikovich said.
Such big number of vehicles needs the corresponding maintenance. There are agreements with Amkodor to set up a network of service centres in Bangladesh. Bangladesh supports the idea, the Speaker of the Council of the Republic noted.
As for the purchase of Belarusian MAZ machinery, we have prepared documents on the right-hand wheel system. It will be mainly machinery for the utilities service of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, said the Speaker of the Council of the Republic, adding that the preliminary plans include the delivery of nearly 500 vehicles.
According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the parties also discussed tractors of about 9-12 horsepower for farms. If this machinery is in demand in Bangladesh, there is an agreement to set up a joint assembly plant. In turn, Khandker Mosharraf Hossain stressed that the Belarus-Bangladesh cooperation is still in its infant state and will be developing in the future.
The minister hailed the agreement to set up a network of Amkodor service centers.
In January-October 2015 the trade between Belarus and Bangladesh totaled $132.6 million, including the Belarusian exports of $114.6 million. A working group on cooperation with the Parliament of Bangladesh has been set up at Belarus National Assembly of the fifth convocation.
