Road crashes kill 2

At least two people including a businessman were killed and 5 injured in separate road accidents in Kaliganj and Shailkupa upazilas of Jhenidah early yesterday.
The deceased were Tushar Hossain, 25, of Alaypur village in Kalignaj upazila and Idris Mollah, 34, of Zadobpur village in Shailkupa upazila of Jhenidah.
Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj police station Anwar Hossain said at about 3:30 am yesterday when truck helper Tushar was taking tea standing beside a tea stall on Jhenidah-Jessore highway, suddenly a speedy truck hit him from the back and managed to flee from the spot. Later, local people rushed him to Kaliganj health complex but the on duty doctor declared him dead.
Officer-in-charge of Shailkupa police station Tozammel Haque said another speedy truck hit a three wheeler ‘nocimon’ from the back at Asannagar village and managed to flee from the spot. Later, local people took six injured people to Shailkupa health complex but the on duty doctor declared Idris dead. He was an onion trader.
Two cases were filed in connection with the incidents.
