Robber killed in �gunfight� with RAB

The ringleader of a forest robber gang was killed in a ‘gunfight’ with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Panir Khal area of the Sundarbans East Zone in Sarankhola upazila of Bagerhat yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Sagir Bhandari, 35, the ringleader of robber gang ‘Nayan Bahini’ of Panchkaran village in Morrelganj upazila.
Based on information that members of a pirate gang, ‘Nayan Bahini’, were staying in the area, a RAB team carried out a drive around 2am.
Sensing RAB presence, the gang members opened, forcing the RAB men to retaliate that triggered a gunfight.
Caught in the line of fire, Sagir was taken to Sarankhola Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
