A Supreme Court Lawyer yesterday sent a legal notice to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia asking her to seek unconditional apology from the nation for raising question about the figures of Liberation War martyrs, reports UNB.
SC lawyer Adv Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, also an executive member of Awami League, sent the notice through a registered post.
According to the notice, several newspapers, including Bangladesh Protidin and Amader Somoy, on December 22 carried a report headlined ‘There’s controversy over the number of martyrs: Khaleda’.
Khaleda raised question over the figure of Liberation War martyrs while addressing a Victory Day rally in the capital on Dec 21.
