Boy killed in road crash

CHITTAGONG: A teenage boy was killed in a road accident in City gate area under Akbar Shah police station of the city yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Helal Uddin, 12, son of Abdur Rahim, hailing from Sonapur area in Noakhali district.
Bimal Karmakar, Sub-inspector (SI) of Akhbar Shah Police Station, Helal worked in factory as a day labourer and was living in a rented house with his mother in Fuzdarhat area of the city. The accident took place while he was crossing the road a covered van hit him, leaving Helal dead on the spot.
