Programmes to celebrate Xmas in Barisal

Christian community in Barisal has taken up various programmes to celebrate their biggest religious festival Christmas on December 25 commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.
The day-long festival will begin from today night with singing carols, special church prayers, and discussion meetings from early Christmas Eve. The churches were decorated with Christmas trees and grandeur lighting. The main prayer of the day scheduled from 8pm to 10pm on Thursday at Baptist church of the city.
To ensure peaceful celebrations of Christmas, security has beefed up in the city. Additional police and the Rapid Action Battalion personnel have been deployed in city points to ensure safety in and around the churches and Christian populated areas.
