Seminar on cyber crimes at RUET Dec 26
RAJSHAHI: A cyber crime related seminar will be held at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) on December 26 (Saturday), a RUET press release said yesterday.
The seminar titled ‘Cyber Crime, Security and Uses of Digital Signature’ will be held at RUET central auditorium from 10 am.
Computer Science and Engineering Department of RUET and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division of Post, Telecommunications and ICT Ministry are going to organise the seminar jointly.
RUET Vice-chancellor Prof Rafiqul Alam Beg and Controller of ICT Division Abu Monsur Sharif Uddin are scheduled to join the programme as chief and special guests respectively, the release added.
Two minibuses introduced for DU officers
Operation of two new 32-seated minibuses, given by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for Dhaka University (DU) officers, was launched on the campus on Tuesday.
DU Vice-Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the buses at the Senate Bhaban premises.
He expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing the buses in solving the transport problem of the university officers.
The vice-chancellor urged the officers to work sincerely to accelerate the activities of the university. Pro-Vice Chancellor (academic) Professor Nasreen Ahmed, Pro-Vice Chancellor (administration) Professor Shaheed Akhtar Hossain, Dhaka University Officers Association President Syed Ali Akbar and general secretary M Ramij Uddin were present on the occasion.
10-day ‘project fair’ begins at DIU
The Department of Architecture of Daffodil International University (DIU) organised a 10-day ‘Project Fair’ on the campus to inspire the students and increase their creativity, says a press release.
Professor Yousuf M Islam, vice-chancellor of the university, inaugurated the fair on Monday. SM Mahbub- ul Haque Majumder, dean, Faculty of Science and Information Technology (FSIT), AMM Hamidur Rahman, dean, FHSS, Engineer AKM Fazlul Haque, Registrar, Md Golam Maowla Chowdhury, Khairul Anam, head, Department of Architecture and a large number of Faculty Members were present at the inauguration programme. Projects made by the students of Fall Semester 2015 took place in the project Fair. Students uphold their creative and innovative projects towards the visitors and demonstrated the signicance of the projects. The Project Fair will continue from 10am to 4pm every day and will continue up to December 31, 2015. The Project Fair is open for all walks of people.
