Three killed in Gaibandha landslide

Three people were killed and two others injured in a landslide alongside an under-construction bridge at Habibullahpur in Sadullapur upazila of Gaibandha yesterday, reports UNB. The victims were identified as Kuddus, 38, Sattar, 20, and Kakuli. Officer-in-charge of Sadullapur Police Station Farhad Imrul Qayes said the accident took place around 7pm when part of land alongside the under-construction bridge on the Gaibndha-Sadullapur road slid leaving the three people dead on them and two others injured. On information, police and fire brigade members recovered the bodies and took the injured --Sohel, 30, and Arif, 20, -- to Sadullapur Upazila Health Complex.
Quoting locals, police said the incident occurred as the victims tried to remove bricks from the under-construction bridge secretly in their bid to steal those.
