Marking the 64th death anniversary of Abanindranath Tagore, the pioneer of Indian Modern Arts, the Fine Arts Department of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) organised a day-long art exhibition at Chhabishala Bottola of the university yesterday. Abanindranath Tagore, a devoted painter, was born in 1871 and died on December 5, 1951. The exhibition was organised with a view to marking the young generation familiar with the master painter’s art works, said Tapon Kumar Sarker, head of Fine Arts Department. More than 60 paintings of the students of Fine Arts Department were displayed at the exhibition. Six paintings of the artistes were also displayed at the exhibition.
