The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) umpires committee temporarily suspended former national captain Roquibul Hasan from all cricketing activities.
The decision came from the emergency meeting on Sunday night following Roquibul’s recent verbal tirade against officials. It was decided that Roquibul will be served with a show-cause notice to explain his behviour.
The former national captain was seen making some derogatory remarks against BCB officials including its president Nazmul Hassan Papon in a television report that followed his controversial move during the toss of a Bangladesh Premier League match.
“He will remain suspended until he can come up with a satisfactory answer to his comments,’ said Sailab Hossain, the member secretary of BCB umpires committee, under whose jurisdiction Roquibul works.
BCB president Nazmul Hassan Papon earlier on Sunday said the disciplinary committee will take over the case and conduct a massive investigation before preparing the report for the board meeting where his future will be decided.
