Pabna: A former BNP leader was killed and two people were injured in an attack by some criminals following previous enmity at Paida village in Sadar upazila yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Mirza Makbul Hossain alias Dulal Master, 52, former assistant organising secretary of district unit BNP and a retired school teacher.
Local people said a group of criminals swooped on Dulal while he was working in his cropland around 3pm and beat him mercilessly, leaving him critically injured.
Two people -- Arjan Sardar, 60, a former UP member and Ahmed Ali, 30 -were injured in the attack as they tried to save Dulal Master.
The injured were rushed to Pabna General Hospital where the doctors declared Dulal Master dead.
