Robbers kill woman

Robbers killed a woman at her home at West Kacharipara in the district town and left with money and ornaments early yesterday. The victim has been identified as Aleya Begum, 45, wife of Sarwar Hossain, branch manager of Sonali Bank. Victim's husband said a gang of robbers entered her room at night and strangled Aleya while their daughter was sleeping in another room. Sarwar also was not at home on that night. The robbers looted Tk 2.5 lakh in cash and about 25 tolas of gold ornaments after breaking the almirah. Next morning, domestic worker Amola saw the body as she entered the house for work. Police recovered the body with hands and legs tied with rope.
