Youth killed in clash over land

Bhola: A young man was killed in a clash between two rival groups over a land-related dispute at Ramaganj in Lalmohan upazila on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Ershad,25, son of Abdul Majed, a resident of the village. Bazlur Rahman, second officer of Lalmohan Police Station, said Ershad and Rahim, also a resident of the village, had long been at loggerheads over the ownership of a piece of land. On Saturday, when Rahim and his men were trying to build a house on the land, Ershad and his followers obstructed them around 3:00pm. At one stage, they beat up Ershad mercilessly, leaving him injured.Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to a local hospital. Officer-in-charge of the police station Aktaruz-zaman confirmed the incident.
