Dhaka Medical Correspondent of Independent Television, Sajib Ahmed, has gone missing since yesterday morning.
He was last seen on a launch named MV Takua yesterday, which plies on the Dhaka-Chandpur route. His mobile phones and ID card were found with the launch supervisor, who claimed that passengers collected these items and gave to him after Sajib jumped into the river near Munshiganj and reached ashore.
However, Sajib’s family fears that miscreants may have killed him by throwing off the launch. Sajib does not know how to swim, they said.
Abdul Hakim, a colleague of Sajib, said the reporter left the DMCH around 9:30 am. We are confused as to why and how he boarded the Chandpur bound launch, he added.
