Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu yesterday called upon all to be united with patriotism to foil global conspiracies against Bangladesh, reports BSS. "A global conspiracy is going on to discover IS in the name of militancy in Bangladesh to create sufferings and conflicts in the country like in the Middle East," he said speaking as the chief guest at a discussion meeting on "Great Victory Day-2015" at BCIC auditorium in the city. The minister said international conspirators have targeted the resources in Bangladesh and all will have to be united against this in the national interest. Presided over by Industries Secretary M. Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, the meeting was addressed Additional Secretaries Sushen Chandra Das and Jamal Abdul Naser and Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman Mohammad Iqbal, said an official press release.
Amu said the country's economy is progressing fast under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. If Bangabandhu was alive, the peace of development could be faster, he added. Meanwhile, leaders of Bangladesh Garment Accessories and Packaging Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGAPMEA) held a meeting with Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu at the ministry yesterday. They requested the minister to allocate land for setting up a full-fledged institute and testing laboratory for garment accessories and packaging industry. The minister said the government is giving importance to the development of garment accessories and packaging industries.
The industries ministry is working to develop a separate industrial estate for this industry, he said. He assured the BGAPMEA leaders that land would be allocated for setting up a full-fledged institute and testing laboratory for garment accessories and packaging industry. Industries Secretary M Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan and BGAPMEA President Rafez Alam Chowdhury were present at the meeting, among others.
