The admission test of Barisal Govt. Zilla School and Govt Girls’ School were held yesterday in 2 centres of the city peacefully. A total of 2,202 admission seekers registered for taking part in the test against 480 seats. School sources said that cent per cent of the registered admission seeker children took part the examination. Hundreds of mother have found on the school compound as praying for the good results for their children. In Barisal Govt Zilla School, a total 1,054 boy students vying for only 240 seats of class III. On the other hand 1148 girls fought for the same seats in Govt Sadar Girls’ School. There are 22 government high schools in six districts of Barisal division. But Barisal district including divisional headquarters have only two where students of class III have access to admission. Two more govt schools, however, started function in the city from last week.
