Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) yesterday demanded immediate formation of the ninth Wage Board for enhancement of salary scales for journalists and other workers of the newspaper industry, reports BSS. "We demand immediate formation of the new wage board . . . it appears urgently essential for our survival," outgoing BFUJ president Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul said. He urged the government to introduce a separate salary structure for the electronic media journalists and workers as well. The demand was floated as the outgoing committee handed over the charge to the newly elected body of the apex forum with Altaf Mahud being its president and Omar Faruque as secretary general.
