A fire broke out at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital yesterday morning. According to ASP Alamgir H Shimul of Airport Armed Police Battalion, the fire incident occurred inside the office of the Officer-in-Charge (Immigration) of HSIA around 8:30am. There was no major damage as the fire was immediately doused by fire fighters at the airport, he added. Airport sources said the fire had originated from an electrical short circuit. Ataur Rahman, duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense Headquarters, however, said he was not aware of any such incident.
