The Textile and Jute Ministry yesterday issued an order making the use of jute bag mandatory for carrying and preserving any quantity of rice, paddy, wheat, maize, fertilizer and sugar aiming to implement the Jute Packaging Act, 2010, reports UNB. According to the order, the word ‘20 kgs and above’ in the pervious order issued on February 5, 2014 regarding the use of jute bags in packaging has been revoke. On February 5, 2014, the ministry issued an order making jute bag use mandatory for carrying and preserving these six items weighing 20 kgs and above.
