A lawyer yesterday served a legal notice on the chief election commissioner (CEC) demanding to know what punitive action has been taken against two ruling party ministers for the violation of electoral code of conduct.
Supreme Court lawyer Advocate SM Julfikar Ali sent the legal notice to the CEC citing names of Information Minister Hasanul Huq Inu and Religions Affairs Minister Matiur Rahman who allegedly violated the polls code. The notice has asked the CEC to reply on the matter within 48 hours.
The notice demanded to know what action has been taken against the two ministers.
