�Muktijuddher Itihas� distributed among school children

Freedom fighters of Rajshahi at an initiative of Fazle Hossain Badsha MP distributed 20,000 copies of the book ‘Muktijuddher Itihas’ (History of the Liberation War) by Prof Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal  among the primary level students of all institutions of the city yesterday. Around 10am, several thousand students of various educational institutions assembled at the historical Madrasha ground and received the copies of the book from the freedom fighters.
Freedom fighter Fazle Hossain Badsha, MP, secretary of Workers Party of Bangladesh, was present at the programme as the chief guest. Among others, freedom fighter Nazim Uddin, commander of Rajshahi city unit of Muktijoddha Sangsad, freedom fighter Mosharrof Hossain and poet Ruhul Amin Pramanik were also present at the programme. Meanwhile, after receiving the book, the students took oath to build themselves as worthy citizens being imbued with the spirit of the Liberation War.
However, they said that now they are able to learn about the Liberation War, freedom fighters and also the Rajakars by reading the book. Ismam Hossain, a student of class III of Court Academy of the city, said, “We’ve heard about our liberation war from the school teachers, now we can learn alone by reading this book.” On the other hand, the freedom fighters who were present said they all were happy to be a part of the programme. Lawmaker Fazle Hossain Badsha said, “Our freedom fighters are actual author of the history of the Bangladesh. They wrote the history of our country through the liberation war. That is why; if our children do not know about the liberation war and freedom fighters, our country will not have its proper development.” However; he urged all the students to learn the proper history of the liberation war. Thirty-five thousand more copies of the book will be distributed among the secondary level students on  March 26 next year.
