Yunnan’s third batch of disaster relief supplies arrived in Muse, Myanmar recently and was officially handed over to the Myanmar side. The disaster relief supplies included 200,000 galvanized corrugated tiles, which will be used to rebuild homes for flood victims in Myanmar.
Mr. U Aung Kyaw Oo, Myanmar Consul General in Kunming, thanked Yunnan Province for the aid at the handover ceremony. He said that in July and August this year, most parts of Myanmar were hit by strong winds and heavy rains, affecting a large number of people. He also said that when Myanmar was in urgent need of help, Yunnan people lent a helping hand, which fully proves that Myanmar and China are truly good neighbours.
After the Myanmar floods, Yunnan Province actively collected disaster relief supplies and transferred them to Myanmar in a timely manner. To date, three batches of disaster relief supplies have been collected. Among them, the first two batches of disaster relief supplies were delivered to the affected people in Myanmar and have played a positive role in helping them survive the floods while rebuilding their homes.
