AFP, LONDON: England’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks is fighting kidney cancer for a second time, he revealed in a British newspaper interview published on Sunday.
Banks, 77, lost one kidney to cancer 10 years ago and is now undergoing chemotherapy after blood tests showed that his other kidney is diseased.
“Last year we went on our annual holiday to Florida. A week later I couldn’t sleep and then I couldn’t even stand due to the pain,” Banks said.
