Battle between young pacer Abu Haider Rony and seasoned campaigner Kevon Cooper will leave the fans keeping finger crossed with anticipation during the BPL final match between Comilla Victorians and Barisal Bulls today.
While Rony tops the bowling list with 21 wickets, Cooper, a popular mercenary of T20 cricket, followed him with 20 wickets, courtesy to his four-wicket haul in the qualifier-2 match against Rangpur Riders. Cooper’s measly bowling often left the opponents’ floundering which is why Bulls won many matches with little runs on the board more often than not.
Rony however hogged the headline with this BPL. A product of Bangladesh’s age level cricket, Rony delivered the ‘ball of the tournament’ in the qualifier-1 clash against Rangpur Riders as his searing Yorker floored Lendl Simmons, a scene no batsmen wants to witness in the future.
The 19-year old left arm pacer has already established him as the strike bowler of his side. When he came to bowl, it seemed, a wicket could fall at any moment and that was what made him apparent.
