A complaint was filed against National Cricket Team player Anamul Haque Bijoy yesterday for beating and stabbing a youth, reports UNB from Kushtia.
Abdul Halim, father of victim Motaleb Hossain Bappy, 24, filed the complaint with Kushtia Model Police Station yesterday night.
Abdul Halim complained that Bijoy’s family had been living at a rented out apartment on the 1st floor of his four-storey house at Gourishankar Agarwal Road in Aruapara are of the district town over the last four years.
On Sunday morning, Bijoy’s father Jamil Hossain locked into an altercation with Bappy over a trifling matter.
Following the incident, Bijoy along with three of his friends went to his house from Dhaka in the evening.
Later, around 9pm, Bijoy and his brother Sajib, beat Bappy with a bat and stabbed him with a sharp weapon, complained Bappy’s father. Bappy was admitted to Kushtia General Hospital.
Biplob Kumar Debnath, officer-in-charge of Kushtia Model Police Station, told our Sports Correspondent that nothing serious has happened.
“You can say it’s a trivial incident between two families. No one from either family lodged any written complaint. They just came to police station and made verbal complaints against each other,” he said.
“My force has visited the hospital but didn’t find any stab mark on Sabbir’s body,” said the police official, adding that his force will take action after investigating the matter.
