Programmes marking Victory Day held
Eastern University Cultural Club (EUCC) organised a programme on the occasion of victory day at EU Seminar Hall, Dhanmondi, Dhaka on Sunday, says a press release. Freedom fighter Dr Sarwar Ali, trustee, Liberation War Museum, was the chief guest, while Abul Khair Chowdhury, chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of EU and SM Baktiar Alam, member of BoT of EU, were the special guests. The programme began with national anthem followed by a welcoming speech by Muhammed Siddique Hossain, treasurer of Eastern University.
ULAB holds seminar on social entrepreneurship
The Department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering of University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) organised a seminar on ‘social entrepreneurship for engineers’ on Sunday, says a press release. The seminar was conducted by Arif Md Waliullah Bhuiyan, CEO and Founder, Light of Hope. He shared his experience how he started his journey with Light of Hope. He also showed his interest to hire few volunteers and interns from ULAB for their upcoming projects. Assistant professor Mohammad Anisuzzaman, Rabiul Islam Jony, lecturer & course coordinator, and MT Hasan Amin, lecturer, ETE department were present in the seminar.
Discussion on Martyred Intellectual Day
East West University (EWU) organised a discussion on its campus at Aftabnagar in the capital yesterday marking Martyred Intellectual Day. Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq was the chief guest while MM Shahidul Hassan, vice-chancellor, EWU was the special guest and Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson, Board of Trustees of EWU and former governor of Bangladesh Bank, chaired the programme. Begum Nilufer Ahmed, director general -2, Prime Ministers Office, Mofidul Hoque, trustee, Liberation War Museum, Shyamoli Nasrin Chowdhury, wife of Shaheed Dr Alim Chowdhury and Towheed Reza Noor, son of Shaheed Serajuddin Hossain, took part in the discussion. Speakers at the discussion demanded to complete the trial of the war criminals, particularly local collaborators of the Pakistani forces.
AIUB holds seminar on branding strategies
The Department of Marketing, Faculty of Business Administration of American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) organised a seminar ‘branding strategies and sales tactics’ on Sunday at the AIUB auditorium, says a press release. Mahbub Baset, marketing director, Reckitt Benckiser - Bangladesh and Sri Lanka Cluster, and Kazi Arif Zaman, sales director, Reckitt Benckiser - Bangladesh Market Region, were the guest speakers of the seminar. Dr Charles C Villanueva, pro-vice chancellor and dean, Faculty of Business Administration, was also present. The seminar was organised and coordinated by Syeda Ismoth Iqbal, lecturer, Department of Marketing and Hamidul Islam, assistant professor, Department of Marketing as a part of students’ development programme. At the end of the seminar, Abdul Kader Nazmul, director, BBA Programme, expressed his vote of thanks to the guest speakers.
BAU students set up open library ‘Pathpath’
MYMENSINGH: Students of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) set up an open library named ‘Pathpath’ on the campus yesterday. Paying tribute to the martyred intellectuals students inaugurated opened the library in the ‘Zobbar More’ area on the campus. The library will be opened for all so that anyone can read book at any time, told the pioneers of the library. The students also told to set up another library at the ‘Kamal-Ronjit’ market on the campus.
