4 policemen injured in gunfight with robbers

Police arrested three suspected robbers following a gunfight in Lalargaon area of Sadar upazila in the early hours yesterday, that left six people, including four policemen, injured, reports UNB.
The injured policemen are assistant sub-inspectors Sadeque and Jamal and two constables Borhan and Muslim of Jalalabad Police Station.
Akhter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jalalabad Police Station said a team of police, acting of a tip-off, conducted a drive at the house of ‘Amir Dakat’ in the area around 5:45am.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the bandits swooped on them and opened fire on the police team, prompting policemen to fire back that left two robbers injured.
Later, police arrested bullet-hit ringleader Amir and his associate Amin from the spot while the others managed to flee.
Following information gleaned from Amir, police conducted another drive in Mollargaon area and arrested another convicted robber Asan Miah.
