Menon for integrating hill people with mainstream politics

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon yesterday said the people of the hill regions would have to be integrated with the mainstreams of politics, economy and culture byestablishing friendly relationship with them, reports BSS.
He was speaking as chief guest at a seminar at CIDRAP auditorium in the city marking International Mountain Day 2015.
The Ministry for Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs organized the seminar on ‘Promoting Mountain Products for Better Livelihood’ with the ministry’s secretary Nabo Bikram Tripua in the chair.
State Minister for CHT Affairs Bir Bahadur Usoi Shing and Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on CHT Affairs Ministry RAM Obaidul Moktadir Chowdhury addressed the seminar as special guests.
Rashed Khan Menon said any ethnic problem should be resolved politically, not though military or any other means.
