Three Bangladeshi young men returned home from India through Darshana Joynagar Check Post in Damurhuda upazila on Thursday after serving two years’ jail term in an Indian prison.
They returnees were identified as Tofazzal Hossain, 21, son of Hanif Mia, Sadek Ali, 28, son of Bhinu Mia, and Shukur Mia, 27, son of Abul Kashem of Fenabil village in sadar upazila of Sunamganj district.
Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) after a flag meeting held near no 76 main pillar in the afternoon.
At a press briefing, Director of BGB-6 SM Maniruzzaman said the three had gone to India illegally through Hili border area in Dinajpur in search of good job on August 19, 2013.
A patrol team of BSF arrested them and sent them to jail.
After serving of their two years and two months’ jail term ended, a decision was taken to return them following joint intervention of the home ministries of the two countries.
