Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha yesterday said justice would have to be established in the society with concerted efforts of all, reports BSS.
“It’s possible to get rid of corruption, bribery, terrorism and conflicts in the society through the awareness of all,” he said, speaking as the chief guest at ‘Bijoya Reunion’ in the city.
Bijoya Punarmiloni Parishad-2015 organised the reunion at Shaheed Shafiur Rahman Auditorium of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) in the capital. The chief justice said there are some bad people among the followers of every religion. But their number is very few, he added.
“Earlier, they used to kill the pundits. They are still killing the good people. They can move in society freely as they get patronisation indirectly,” he said and posed a question from where the bad people get so much strength.
Presided over by SCBA President Khandaker Mahmud Hossain, the function was also addressed by Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, Bar Council Vice-Chairman Abul Baset Majumder and SCBA former Secretary Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokan, among others.
