Police in a drive arrested 8 Bangladesh Jammat-e-Islami leaders and activists in Sunam-ganj and Satkhira districts yesterday., reports UNB
In Sunamganj, police in a drive arrested 8 Bangladesh Jammat-e-Islami leaders from a house adjacent to Gabindhaganj point in Chhatak upazila of the district on Wednesday noon. Some of the leaders managed to flee the scene in this incident. In Satkhira, joint forces in separate drives from Wednesday night to early Thursday arrested 42 people, including 12 Jamaat-Shibir activists, in different places of the district on various charges. Enamul Haque, sub-inspector of Satkhira district police, said the joint forces conducted the drive in the eight upazilas and arrested 42 people, including 11 of Jamaat and one of Shibir.
