Pirojpur AL council today

The triennial council of Pirojpur district unit Awami League is going to be held today after 23 years.
On the occasion, Pirojpur town has taken a festive look as it has been decorated with many arches and lighting. Top central leaders of the party are scheduled to attend the council.
But party men expect a committee, where self-denying party men will be evaluated. However, most AL supporters want AKMA Awal, district unit secretary of AL and also lawmaker from Pirojpur constituency-1, as district unit president.
Jahangir Hossain Nanna Podder, secretary of Pirojpur poura unit of AL, said there is no alternative to AKMA Awal in Pirojpur AL. So, they want him as district unit president.
About the upcoming council, Ishak Ali Khan Panna, former secretary of central Bangladesh Chattra League (BCL) and a aspirant for secretary post of the district unit AL, said he will support anyone whom Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina, who is also the chief of AL, will select. Two names have come to limelight ahead of the council. They are Advocate Hakim Hawlader, vice-president and now president in charge of district AL, and AKMA Awal, present secretary and also Pirojpur constituency-1 lawmaker.
