45 rare turtles seized in Jessore

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive seized 45 rare species of turtles in Putkhali border area on Wednesday night.
Putkhali company camp commander of BGB 21 battalion Subedar Golam Ahmed said a team of BGB members conducted a drive in Putkhali Balurmath area at night and seized 45 turtles worth Tk6.75 lakh. Sensing presence of the law enforcers three smugglers managed to flee away leaving behind the turtles in three sacks.
