Three people, including a woman and her son, were killed and 10 others injured in a road mishap on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Nisindara-Jhapghari area of the district town yesterday afternoon.
The deceased were identified as Sajeda Begum, 30, her son Surja Mia, 12, and another man, aged about 28, whose identity could not be known immediately.
Locals said the accident took place at around 1.30pm when a Bogra-bound bus plunged into a roadside ditch as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the trio dead on the spot.
Aslam Ali, Inspector (Investigation) of Sadar Police Station, said a team of police rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.
