A three-day international conference on "Disability and Disaster Risk Management" will be held in the capital from Saturday with participation of 70 representatives from 22 countries and 500 development workers of 100 non-government organizations, reports BSS.
Chairperson of National Advisory Committee on Autism and Member of World Health Experts Advisory Panel on Mental Health Saima Hossain, daughter of the Prime Minister, will present keynote paper as the main speaker during the inauguration session of the conference.
Disaster Management and Relief Ministry, Social Welfare Ministry, Women and Child Affair Ministry and CDD will jointly organise the conference with support of disaster risk reduction wing of the UN at Krishibid Institute Auditorium at Farmgate.
This was revealed yesterday by Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzel Hossain Chowdhury Maya at a press conference at the conference room of the ministry at secretariat in the capital.
